Hey there!

First day back to work for teachers today and whoa boy do I have A LOT of work to do. I'll post some pictures of my new shop soon. First I have to get my course work organized then start some sample project work.

Thanks for coming to check out my work and sticking with me through this sort of slumpish period.

On another note, we finished the Hawktree deck and replaced/fixed all of the disturbed siding yesterday. Pictures of the deck to come!

I forgot to post the last photos of the Hawktree deck build before my wife and I left for holidays.

I REALLY like the way the deck boards turned out on this structure. We used Fiberon deck boards.

Things to take away from this project:

1) use 45 degree angles for everything

2) be glad we didn't have to pay someone to build this deck with all of the math needed to figure out the angles.

I think the owners are really happy with how this project turned out. They are going to wait till next summer to do the railings.

I was with my wife visiting family in Niagra Falls and Forest, Ontario this past week. I came across some pretty cool stuff in my Grandfather's old shop. I found a birdhouse project I made back in grade 8 I think?

It was really cool staying there for my wife's first visit to Ontario and my first time back in 17-18 years! I'm looking forward to getting back in the shop next week to play with some new tools! Photos of project work to come.

Sorry for the project shortage this past month. Being a teacher first gives my wife and I the opportunity to use our time off as efficiently as possible it seems. We've been to the US at the beginning of July. Just returned home from Kelowna for my brother in-law's wedding (which was awesome by the way). And now, we're off to Ontario to visit my grandmother for 10 days!!

I'm really excited to venture out east for some awesome site-seeing and visiting with my family.

The finished deck photos will be posted when I return and I will have a few projects started up again to update you on..
